Lest the news becomes stale, despite the incomplete list, let me enumerate the winners as announceed during our spa-rty. My colleagues are just busy with the holiday season now so I can't secure the complete list.

The news would be passe by january so let me just share what I have right now.

The winners were divided into two, those based in the Philippines and those living abroad.

When we were conceptualizing the logo of proudlyfilipina.com, Rissa, our creative director thought of the Gumamela flower.  This is what you see on the header of our site.

Very filipina, delicate, and attractive.

The Gumamela, or Hibiscus flower aptly represents  delicate beauty. Others would say that it symbolizes Lust, love, and divination.

Despite the bleak financial situation, fililpinos are still a lover of holidays.  I have taken some photos of places I had been in the city and would like to share it here:

Last friday, the Direct Marketing Association of the Philippines held an ecomonic briefing with two speakers, an economist, Dr.  Renato Reside, UP Professor and a banker TG Limcaoco, President of BPI Capital Corp.

After more than three decades, we then met our former Conductor Noel Velasco, now based in Rhode Island, USA and a famous international Opera Singer.He is the Luciano Pavarotti of the Philippines.

I am currently attending the annual conference of PCAM, The Power of Natural Healing.  One interesting speaker today is Dr. Robin B. Navarro who wowed the audience as he encouraged people to eat Bulalo, Butter, Eggs with yolk and cheese, contrary to what the traditional doctor says.  I will expound on his talk on a different blog but I will just post here his suggestion for proper nutrition and lifestyle.

I wanted to post this last night while I was watching the show but was too tired. I am not sure if it is the first time the Philippines won the award but we surely are proud of  Karla Paula Henry for winning the crown.
